Background of department/role
We are looking for an experienced and creative clinician to work with us to deliver the best experience and support for our student population who have physical health and neurodiverse needs.
You will be part of a large department who are innovating the way students are supported to succeed throughout their time at university.
This position will play a key lead role in supporting students with more complex health needs who declare a disability or neurodiverse condition. The role also includes working with academic staff who need advice and guidance to support students navigate the teaching environment.
We would love to hear from you if you are an experienced Community Nurse, Occupational Therapist, or Occupational health Nurse, with proven skills in managing complex health conditions and negotiating adjustments under the equality act.
Knowledge of existing disability legislation and support for students within a Higher Education establishment and experience of advising staff on the impact of health difficulties would be advantageous, but not necessary.
How will you work?
We are committed to supporting flexible methods of working wherever possible.
Campus attendance will vary on a day-to-day basis and across the year but must purposefully align to the needs of our students, staff, and stakeholders. It is expected that there will be a relatively even balance between time spent on and off campus; but in most cases the work location will be determined by the service required or the tasks/activities being undertaken.
